To the wonderful person reading this,

Thank you for being a witness and honoring my life's story so far & why the work we do at the Relational Mastery Institute (RMI) is so important to me. Here it goes...

Since as early as I can remember, I have always wanted to be “the best part of someone’s day.” My life's journey, like any story, has its unique beginnings and defining moments. I am the eldest of five children, born to restaurateur parents. My father, a chef who ventured from Italy to the United States around the age of 30, carried with him the flavors and traditions of his homeland. These roots would significantly shape my life's path.

For the first 13 years of my existence, my life was marked by a constant dance between the US and Italy. This nomadic lifestyle required me to adapt continually to new environments, cultures, and people. It was during these formative years that I cultivated a profound respect and curiosity for humanity. I found myself constantly seeking connections, acceptance and belonging, whether it was with the flight crew during transatlantic plane rides as a toddler, fellow students in schoolyards, strangers at the grocery store, or customers at my parents' restaurant.
With my parents often immersed in the demands of their restaurant, I naturally assumed the role of a surrogate parent to my younger siblings. Although my external life might have appeared "charmed," internally, I grappled with issues of low self-esteem and an unrelenting pursuit of perfection to compensate for my negative self-perception.

Then, in the early months of 2010, a profound shift occurred in my life. A beloved professor and mentor of mine, Adi, lost her battle to cancer at a shockingly young age, she was only in her early thirties. Adi had a unique clause in her syllabus – a "cancer clause" – where she expressed her desire to teach until the end. She invited us, her students, to accompany her on her journey, to witness the highs and lows of her treatment. The prognosis was grim, and her impending passing was inevitable.
It was during this transformative period, at the onset of a Communications course led by Adi, that my perspective on life underwent a radical shift. Watching Adi navigate her battle with courage and share her experiences forced me to confront my own mortality. Thus began my deep dive into existentialism, yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and other practices that facilitate a deeper connection to oneself and others.

Adi's journey illuminated a profound truth for me – life's essence lies not in external measures of success like physical appearance, possessions, or academic achievements, but in the depth of our capacity to love. At the tender age of 21, this lesson became etched into the core of my being, an invaluable guide on my ongoing journey to connect with the world, inspire others, and find meaning in every moment.
Since then, I have worked in large-box retail stores, in leadership for one of the largest global cosmetics companies, in management at the largest non-profit hospital system in the DC Metro area, as a senior director for the nation’s leading teen mental health organization, a certified mentor for the HeartMath Institute, and as a mental health therapist in private practice.

As I moved through these diverse professional areas, I consistently carried with me the aspiration to be the best part of someone's day, a goal that transcended job titles and professional boundaries. In each role, I found ways to connect with individuals, forging meaningful relationships, and sharing in their joys and challenges.

During my time working closely with high-level executives recognized a common thread among leaders across various sectors– a genuine desire to support their team members. However, I also observed that these leaders often overlooked their own well-being in their pursuit of the best for their teams, and to be quite frank, “had it all” on the outside, but were plagued with dire loneliness on the inside. This taught me a profound lesson; that we are all human and regardless of status or success, have an innate yearning to belong, be accepted and love.
My journey led me to become a founder of the Relational Mastery Institute (RMI) where we have developed a unique approach, one rooted in the power of love, gratitude, mindfulness, and self-care. I realized that to truly support others, one must first prioritize self-love and well-being. This perspective became the cornerstone of RMI's methodology, helping individuals uncover their purpose and meaning while empowering them to put themselves first, without guilt.

With that new awareness and greater sense of confidence and purpose, I took a leap of faith and left the corporate world to fully embrace "my life of thriving" and commit to "stepping into the unknown future." Yes, very scary at first, but now with the 20/20 vision hindsight provides, I have never been in a more authentic place with myself. In the Summer of 2023, I decided to take a year off and truly "live" the pillars that we have built as the core principles of this Institute and spent part of my year getting inspired by my Italian cultural roots and moving to the blue zone of Sardinia as well as spending much needed time being truly "present" with friends, family and cherished loved ones . And so, a new beginning starts...
